I love how it was Kageyama grandfather who taught him about the importance of personal maintenance - those lifelong little habits, like eating properly, getting enough rest, filing his nails, writing in his volleyball journal - that allow him to strive even when he’s grandpa is not around to take care of him anymore.Â
Nobody can guarantee that you won’t get rough patches, but Kageyama got the gift of learning early ways to take care of his body and mind to get through them. And these were cleverly peppered over the entire manga from chapter 1.Â
