A word of advice on the eight sabbats for new witches,
I know that when you're first starting out in the Craft, sometimes learning about the sabbats and everything they represent and are tied to can be...overwhelming. And when that first date comes around for you, sometimes it's hard not to panic because of the implication that it could be celebrated wrong or that things need specific rituals and the like.
But the thing is, the sabbats are actually really simple (despite what research might tell you). What the eight sabbats boil down to, in essence, are celebrating the circle of life at various points of the year, being thankful for what you have, and sharing joy and prosperity with your loved ones. And the best way to celebrate is just doing whatever helps you attune to the point of year the sabbat takes place in.
Yes, there are all kinds of herbs and color correspondences and motifs and symbolism attached to each one. Yes, there are some more common themes in how groups of people choose to celebrate. But if you feel that Ostara is best celebrated by simply taking some you time or Yule is better spent drawing a quick energy-boosting sigil on your coffee before heading back to work, that's your personal magick babe.
The thing about the Craft is that it can be celebrated any which way that makes YOU feel good and connected with life and the world around you. The Craft is all about YOUR personal journey and how YOU choose to spend the time allotted to you. Yes, there are guidelines, but they aren't rules or set in stone. And even if they were, stone is often carved away by the steady persistence of a river.
Work your magick by just living and taking your time to figure out what works best for you. And when you finally find that sweet spot that hits you just right? You'll know.
