Daily affirmation for the last few months: imagining Ansbach's helm crumpling in on itself like the Witch King's with his head inside and Miquella just beyond his reach.
He is the voice of every single bad take my eyes hath seen. I feel...
Better.

tagged by @carolinawrenn! There's a lot of weird lore about me and my family that floats around, I'll try to see if I can find the thread
One side of my family is extremely large, I have thirty plus first cousins and any number of second cousins (children of my cousins). We all grew up together in the same city and attending the same church where our family was involved
I grew up thinking it was absolutely normal to have cousins coming over at all hours of the day and month, and a week wouldn't go by when I didn't see some uncle or aunt, or either set of grandparents
After facing social difficulties in school and in church, I spent a lot of time independent study, and consequently with my grandmother, after we lost our grandfather. I basically lived at her house for the better part of three years. She would walk with me to the library when I got too bored at being her house, it only occured to me years later that my grandmother couldn't read English and she still went with me
During independent studies, the teacher let me read whatever I wanted for English and write whatever I wanted as long as I used the vocabulary lists. I used to show my mom the sentences and she would ask if I had borrowed it from a book. I hadn't.
In eighth grade I returned to a mainstream classroom and didn't get along with the teacher. She assigned me to read unabridged edition of Crime and Punishment (yes, the Dostoevsky one), because she wanted to "challenge me." To this day, I cannot stand Russian literature.
In high school I was assigned books like Bede's Ecclesiastical History of the English People, Geoffrey of Monmouth's History of the Kings of Britain, and Saint Augustine's Confessions. Out of all this assigned reading, I think my favorite was the Martin Luther biography. I was bored to tears trying to read John Calvin.
In college, while reading the Spenser's The Faerie Queen I got so fed up with his portrayal of Una that for my senior capstone project I rewrote the portion of "Saint George and the Dragon" by having George being a modern day London firefighter and Una being cursed to be turned into a dragon. In retrospect, the professor was very patient with me about this.
College was also where I started being on Tumblr and writing fanfic for the first time; the main fandom was musicals and Star Wars (oy).
My ao3 account was started on a whim, it genuinely didn't occur to me that I could put my Tumblr fanfic on there until after graduation.
I finished my Master's degree in library science this past summer, it's been a long journey to the end.
That was (sort of) a wild ride from start to finish! If anyone wants to do it, consider yourself tagged!
Skylanders Oscar Caldwell, the Gentleman of the Ocean, is closest with
Chill: Chill intimidates Oscar at first; she’s disciplined, noble, proud, and carries herself like a knight. Oscar assumes she’ll be cold, distant, or unimpressed by him, but she surprises him. Chill becomes quietly protective of Oscar, offering steady reassurance, gentle correction, a calm presence when his magic surges, and respect for his boundaries and pain. She treats him like someone worth defending, which is something Oscar isn’t used to
Gill Grunt: Gill Grunt is the Skylander who helps Oscar feel better without even trying. He’s earnest, loyal, and big‑hearted; the kind of person who listens without judgment. Oscar feels safe around him because Gill never pushes him, he’s patient with Oscar’s quietness, he encourages Oscar’s confidence, and he’s goofy enough to make Oscar smile. Gill’s unwavering loyalty helps Oscar believe he deserves friendship
Snap Shot: Snap Shot is the closest thing Oscar has ever had to a good father figure besides Master Eon. He’s strict, serious, and expects effort; but he’s also deeply protective and genuinely invested in Oscar’s growth. He teaches Oscar how to control his tempest magic, how to stand firm even when afraid, how to trust his instincts, and how to defend himself without overthinking. Snap Shot sees Oscar’s potential clearly, even when Oscar doesn’t. He pushes him, but never cruelly, always with care
Skylanders George Brooks, the Shield of Protection, is closest with
Barbella: Barbella takes one look at George and immediately decides he needs proper meals, a workout routine, emotional support, and someone to tell him he’s doing great. She becomes the “southern athlete mom” he never had; Loud, warm, encouraging, and fiercely protective. She calls him “sweetheart,” "sugar," and “big guy,” makes sure he hydrates, and absolutely threatens anyone who stresses him out. George feels safe around her in a way he didn’t expect. She’s grounding, steady, and proud of him in a way that hits him right in the heart
Terrafin: Terrafin treats George like a younger brother he needs to toughen up, but also protect with his life. He teaches George how to fight dirty, how to stand his ground, how to throw a punch without breaking his wrist, and how to yell back when someone pushes him. He’s loud, blunt, and chaotic, but he cares deeply. He’d fight anyone who threatens George, no hesitation. George admires Terrafin’s strength and loyalty, even if the dirt shark punches him in the shoulder too hard sometimes
Prism Break: Prism Break is the Skylander George relates to the most on a quiet, internal level. They’re both reserved, slow to trust, protective, and more emotional than they let on. Prism Break doesn’t talk much, but George doesn’t need him to. They sit together in silence, working with earth magic, shaping crystals, or just existing. Prism Break’s calm presence helps George regulate his own emotions. Prism Break sees George’s gentleness and respects it deeply

GUESS WHAAAAAAT, I FINISHED WRITING THIS PROJECT AND I DIDN'T DIE
writing something that's not literature is so difficult for me, but I DID IT. It's gay and fun and I love it
I completed some work experience at this company a year back, and I've just now been informed that everyone there still refers to me as "The girl who kept talking about Formula 1" 😭💀
