How people find it more than necessary, perhaps paramount, that there be a TV on and blaring in the background or the radio or a CD, when they aren't even paying attention, such as right now with me (not my choice). Â It's My parents and brother insist on this happening. Â When my Mum gets up she turns the TV on, my Dad listens to music while he listens to self-help videos. Â My brother can't sit in his room and read or be on his laptop because it's too quiet.
Me, I'm the opposite.  When my Mum goes to work and my brother to karate and my Dad not yet home from work, my house is silent, excepting perhaps my music from my laptop or the shower.  But I'm listening to my music and facebooking.  Not facebooking with music in the background.  You can guarantee that the TV is off the second the house is empty and the air conditioning is off (my fondness of heat is interesting but untimely with it's occurrence in this post).
They argue the silence is eerie, unnatural, they hear the house move and freak out, they get chills up their spines. Â It's all in your heads!
I argue the noise is irritating. Â It sets my teeth on edge, confuses me, my head and my ears and makes them hurt as well, along with wasting power, these are facts and aren't in anyone's head, they're real.
They refuse to see the truth, their stubbornness irritates me. Â Yet they're the ones who are irritated by my irritation, wonder why I'm so forgetful and confused all the time, why I have to ask someone to repeat what they said 5 times, why I always go back to my room to be alone. Â It's not you, it's what you do.Â
They say silence is golden, but it's not always true. Â However I will say noise is acid. Don't let the concentration get too high or you'll die/irritate your body/make you sick/hurt.
