Did someone say gemsonas?
So just like everybody else whose been doing it me and my friends have been making gemsonas. I figured I share some of the rough sketches I made of them, I might come back and clean these up. Iâve got two, Jet and Chalcedony.
Jetâs...well as you can guess lookinâ for a scuffle. Mostly because theyâve got something to prove. On the Mohs scale Jet gemstones, or Iignites, range from 2.5 to 4, a small cut above Pearls and arenât so much as cut as they are tumbled into shape. So this oneâs gotta take a bruising before getting any better. Given the softness of the stone I thought it appropriate to give Jet the position of assassin. Get them before they get you.
Chalcedonyâs design was a little bit harder to figure out. I really wanted to do something with design of the stone, which is called banded or striped. I thought a horn like a rams horn, since itâs technically stripped, would be interesting and given itâs an auditory weapon the placement of the gem at the throat seemed appropriate. Also her hair was difficult, fluffy but not a single shape.
The last pic is a little mini comic between Jet and my friendâs, Pepperdantfresh, gemsona Green Sphene. Jet tries to sneak, fails and gets bludgeoned for theyâre trouble. Donât worry Sphene didnât kill them. I might draw the aftermath later.
