The Relationship - Horse Racing
For my final relationship shoot I decided to photograph the horse racing at Southwell Racecourse in Nottinghamshire. One of the main things to consider with these images was the shutter speed I used in order to freeze the subject of the image. It became apparent that I would have to raise the ISO in order to compensate for the cloud coverage that limited some of the light.Â
My favourite image from this shoot is featured above (bottom left). I like this image because it is of the stablehand and the horse instead of the jockey and the horse. It is not a typical sports image because it is focusing on a relationship that happens away from the track. Furthermore, the horse and stablehand in the image are both sharp and in focus and I really like the level of detail that can be seen in the horse itself.Â
I am also a fan of the bottom right image from above. I decided to use this image for a magazine spread that I created in my home town as it is an image that is clear to see what it is and was suitable for the spread because it didn’t need any words do describe what it is.Â
