Los Angeles – The People’s Summit for Democracy is outraged by the decision of the U.S. government to deny visas to a 23 person delegation from Cuban civil society, including scientists, Olympic athletes and youth activists. The denial of their visas is an affront to the same democratic values that the U.S. government and its “Summit of the Americas” pretends to uphold.

People's Summit Huge Success! What's Next?

Three main talking points here at this session. Two thirds of Illinois corporations do not pay taxes. The cutbacks in Illinois is being by the Republicans to privatize public resources. The crack downs from police are increasing to control people. They asked who at the down-ballot revolutionaries panel wants to build the Great Coalition. Then everybody raised their hands.

Listening to Jovanka Beckles talk what you do after having a revolutionary campaign. They tried to use eminent domain to help people who couldn't pay their mortgages. They also passed a rent control but they tried tried to petition against it. They then passed a ballot to get rent control passed. However state law limited the effect it would have. They changed and fought the state law so they could implement rent control as well as the could. #pplsummit
