Ones ones.
How far in advance do you think Alex Hirsch planned the hunt, considering its mind-boggling complexity?
Maybe a year or so? He’d have to have commissioned the statue in time for the finale after all.
The poet speaks not with intellect alone but with the intellect inebriated by nectar...For if in any manner we can stimulate this instinct, new passages are opened into nature... This is the reason why bards love wine, mead, narcotics, coffee, tea, opium, the fumes of sandalwood and tobacco, or whatever other procurers of animal exhilaration.

In times of stress. In times of cultural stress. When one's country is colonised, or occupied. When up against a materially superior culture. In times of culturak collapse. When overwhelmed by cynacism and despair.
We begin dancing to remake the world.
We call upon the ancestors who know the old ways. We dance to bring back the buffalo. We dance that the world may end, that the evil be destroyed by fire or by flood, by ice or by sword.
That in a New World we can live without oppression.
Maya sacrifice was always accompanied with shamanic blood-letting. A queen would pierce her tongue diagnolly with a stingray spine, and then pull a length of twisted string through the hole, allowing the blood to flow down the string. A king did the same with his penis. The blood was collected on paper and burned. The Visionary Serpent emerged from the smoke, and the visions that came from his mouth were recorded and interpreted. The Aztecs practiced bloodletting, generally by piercing earlobes, but they seem not to have practiced the visionary divination from burning blood. In fact, there seems to have been some fear of the Serpent.
