i like that previous response and also (tho this is just based on like hazy memories of watching the show cause it's been a while) i like the idea of physical touch being one of emmet's big ones and not so much for elle, but i think of elle as naturally more touchy than emmet. so i imagine when elle casually touches him before they get together for her it's just like :) and emmet's whole brain is !!SHUTTING DOWN!! alarms going off because to him it's a really big deal
