“ Kodos taught Jim how to play chess. Thing is, Jim’s style of play is adaptive to anyone he faces off against. Against Spock’s careful development and patient moves, Jim is erratic, unpredictable, quick and aggressive; against Kodos’ ferocity, dominance and spontaneity, Jim was calculated and tactical, ready to trip up Kodos should he have made a mistake. I’m the first game he and Jim ever played for real, Kodos fatally underestimated Jim and lost. The Tarsus Revolution played out the same way.

im has met a handful of people in his life who match his rating in chess, of those people being Spock and Kodos himself. The first time Kodos played Jim in chess and lost was a major blow to his pride, because he was supposed to be teaching Jim. He had sat back a moment, looked at the board, said nothing and reset it. He spun the board around so that Jim was black this time.

Kodos starts with e4, Jim e5, but Kodos makes a smartass dumb choice in playing a3, loses his tempo trying to defend his pieces as Jim quickly develops the board. It’s in the middle of the game when Kodos sees that he’s just dancing around the board, trying to evade Jim’s pieces that he resigns with a quiet fire behind his eyes. He had never taken a blow to his ego like this before - either he’s not as good at chess as he thought, or Jim’s a genius.

Aah no no! I was learning how to do surgery. :`y And for some reason, our surgeons are all terrible people (with 1-2 exceptions). I suspect that it’s a cycle where mean people are hiring other mean people. :\

Fthphth I MEAN I’ve seen a tiny bit of Hal/A!Dave, it definitely qualifies as a rarepair, but any combination of Striders is excellent A+ yes please. And I may not personally be into omorashi but I can definitely get behind the power and control aspect of it. >:3c

regrettably, i’m closing the curtains on this blog. i’ve changed the URL back to pedantricks and i’ve decided to leave this up as it is, as an archive.

some goofs were had here. i’ve met so many great people through this site and had such fun, particularly in the homestuck fandom. i spent my coming of age on this site and the people i met through it hold a special place in my heart. but, as with all good things, i gotta pack up and move on. 

the true reason i’m dispersing and leaving this as an archive is because this blog has become to cluttered and frustrating for me to think about, so i’ve decided to buckle down to reorganize, declutter and rethink my social media presence coming into 2019.

note that i will log on for a short time after posting this, just to answer any lingering questions, reply to any remaining conversations and step in occasionally to update where else i am on the web. i’ll advertise myself, and i’ll still use my visibility to reblog commission posts when asked and when i see them. but other than that,

thank you guys so much for years of bullfuckery. it’s been good and fun. i gotta jet.
