     There once was a man with scruff on his chin. This man knew a woman with long flowing hair. This man fell in love with said woman. He fell in love with her because of the stories she told. O! The stories she told! They were always filled with adventures and strange things. The wildest events took place at the end of her pen! They were lovely. She was lovely.

     But, alas! …She was a writer. She wasn’t in love with the man with scruff on his chin. She was in love with words, with her characters. She was in love with the words of her characters! And this man, oh this poor man, he could not form words as lovely as hers. He could not form words as lovely as her. He could not compete with the people of her imagination. He didn’t even come close to the brilliance of their words!

     “It’s dangerous, being in love with a writer,” said the man as he rubbed the scruff on his chin. And really, it is. It’s like having the most valuable ruby, the most precious stone in the whole world right in front of your eyes, but knowing you’ll never be able to give enough to call it yours.

     Oh, isn’t she just lovely?
