I think my most self-indulgent fic is probably That I Am Able, which is a ridiculous Castiel gen fic-- there's a lot of my research interests in there, and it's the kind of fic I don't write a lot (episode reaction! not a lot of actual plot!), so it was fun and super-challenging to write all at the same time.

that pairing everyone likes but you’re like “lol no” There are various combinations I just don't understand at all--I think I need a little more canon than some do. Not a ridiculous amount, but some evidence of a ~special connection~ or w/ev that I can hang my hat on. Louis/Liam and Zayn/Liam are the only pairings besides Harry/Nick I read regularly. I don't usually like to read members of my OTP with anyone else.

Yeah, my friend talked it over with me and told me a few of the details and I just can't watch it. I'm really glad I got told about what happened, because it would have been a bad idea for me to watch. Not a good way to start out the work-week.

I never even suspected they would go that far in ridiculousness. I can't take Jennifer/Derek even mildly seriously now. Anything approaching "she healed him with her love" (and it's almost always using those pronouns) is one of those things that makes me put down a romance novel straight-away. Even metaphorically, I cannot with that trope. Just... no. That's not how it works. Sex and love are not cure-alls for suffering and pain and having a dark past. And even if they're planning on flipping the trope over the course of the relationship, I still have to roll my eyes through it while it's happening. A 'brilliant' twist does not negate annoying storytelling.
I'm at the point where I'd just kinda like an episode that only had Team Human doing something. A road trip episode for Stiles, Lydia, and Allison (and maybe Danny, though has he ever had a conversation with Allison? well, it's about time he did, anyway) just sounds so awesome right now. They get so much shit and no compensation in the form of wolfy powers.
