Reading that the Japanese embassy and investors asked Thailand to reopen the Cambodian border left me unsettled. Thailand values peace and stability, yet it feels deeply unsafe to even consider this while Cambodia has not fulfilled the three conditions of withdrawing heavy weapons, clearing landmines, and dismantling scam networks. These are not technicalities but matters of national security and the protection of innocent lives. It hurts to see economic gain placed before human safety, because the worth of a nation is not measured in profit but in the lives of its people.
