“PC-ness is so annoying”
Ken Burns' WAR
Because the cable box is out, Burns' WAR documentary is on. Frankly, it's not that interesting to watch people play it, no matter how fast. It's just luck. As a person of possibly Belgian descent, I'm distressed by the lack of stories from Flemings. I think I'll soothe my cultural wounds with a waffle.
BRPS, why you so anal retentive?
Still browsing BRPS. It's something to keep me occupied while I'm on campus.
There is one specific person on BRPS (not mentioning names, obviously) who, on every recent post she comments on, is yelling at people for using the words crazy, or mentally deficient, or moron, or any euphemism relating to craziness, or just anything that could in anyway be construed to be a slur against people with real mental problems.
Now, there is a time and a place to confront people about it. Like, when someone says 'retarded' and they're older than the age of eight. Or when someone actually compares someone they don't like to having an actual mental disorder for no reason other than disliking them. However.
When someone says 'that's crazy' in regards to something surprising? Not the time to get confrontational.
When someone says that someone has 'more issues than a magazine rack?' Not the time to get confrontational.
When someone says a rape apologist who told someone they deserved to get raped is 'acting like a mentally deficient sociopath?' Not the time to get confrontational.
Hell, at this point I'm afraid to post or comment on BRPS (not that I've really been rping lately, anyway) because I'm afraid someone will jump down my throat in favor of actually commenting on the meat of it. Because I use the words stupid, moron, dumb, crazy, batshit insane, and other such things you may hear in everyday conversation which most people are rational enough to know aren't meant as slurs against mental disorders. But a good chunk of the people on BRPS? No, they will get up in arms over the dumbest( haahaa), stupidest (heehee) things. It's crazy (hoohoo).
