Mechanical Gaming Keyboards: Here's why the big brands aren't as good as you think, and why you should look at other brands.
There is a staple of nearly every single PC gaming setup, it is a Mechanical Keyboard. They're nice to type on, they're generally built better than the average keyboards, and they actuate quicker. What's not to like about them? Well, for the most part, there's generally not much. Most of your desires for typing are covered: If you want silent switches, get MX silents! You like tactility? BOX Royals are for you. Do you like a nice, crisp, click? Go ahead and take some MX Blues, BOX Whites, etc, etc, etc.
Unfortunately, there are a few select brands. In particular, Razer, Corsair, ASUS, and Logitech. These 4 are very well known within the PC Gaming community, and their boards are extremely popular. They are also known for being expensive, but hey, it's expected. Mech keyboards are expensive, right? Plus, they're the best around.
Not really. If anything, these are very much held in disdain by the Mechanical Keyboards community, due to a few reasons.
The build quality.
