Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have had another son. Prins Carl Philip och Prinsessan Sofia har fått en son.
“On August 31 at 11.24 am, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia had a son at Danderyd Hospital. Weight:  3400 gr. Length:  49 cm. Both mother and child are in good health. Prince Carl Philip was present for the birth.” - Official Announcement by the Marshal of the Realm, Royal Court.Â

The little boy is sixth in line to the throne. The royal family’s youngest member is the sixth grandchild, and fourth grandson of King Carl XVI. Gustaf and Queen Silvia. His names are expected to be announced at a cabinet meeting. The King will inform the Government of the title, name and given name of his son’s second child, which will take place in the next few days. The baby is presumed to be known as His Royal Highness Prince [given name + two or three middle names], Duke of [swedish duchy]. It’s official: The Prince Couple are expecting a child
Kungahuset announced today: “Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their second child. The birth is expected to take place in September 2017.”
“We are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander. We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family,” says Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. No changes in the schedule of The Prince Couple’s public engagements are planned during the spring and summer of 2017.
Congrats to the happy family of soon to be 4. Alexander will be a great big brother.
