every time i see a path or trail with beautiful scenery, great height, perfect location, etc, and then it turns out to be paved, i am going to kill a hostage. paved paths suck so much. they hurt your feet more (at least IMO, uneven paths w/ rocks and stuff are way more comfortable, esp. if there's a lil dirt to cushion ur feet), theyre ugly, theyre more expensive to maintain, and, least importantly, it's so much fucking fun to skip and jump over tree roots and clamber over uneven rocks and slide over logs and duck under tree branches. it is genuinely the most fun part of hiking. why would u take that away for the hot asphalt slab 3000 that u cant even bike on cuz its not allowed. one of my favorite trails got paved over like this. whoever came up w/ and approved this ought to be shot
