something that seems a little strange to me that they do not mention it, but, Violet is a super beautiful young Doll and of course a millionaire by her adoptive parents, being so, she should have half of high society kneeling at her feet, making visits to her house considering that at that time when a high society woman was super attractive she received many marriage requests
Yeah. VE doesn’t really operate in realistic ways when it comes to customs. That’s one of its most noticeable flaws. It has things like people living all by themselves without any help (who cleans their house and makes food???) and religion is only ever mentioned when talking about the war or monologuing about whether God exists or not. Both Violet and Gilbert should have been courted to hell and back and received hundreds if not thousands of marriage proposals when they weren’t together, as per common sense, but none of this was ever mentioned.
Still, I guess this one is kind of justifiable? I mean, even if they had such candidates, they’d just turn all of them down. Since Gil is the head of the family, he has enough authority to do that, and I like to believe that Patrick and Tiffany just let Violet do whatever she wanted out of compassion for her traumas and situation. I’m sure it doesn’t take much to realize that one can’t simply force her into marriage, and they wouldn’t want to do that to her anyway.
