This was always going to be a good match with both teams really impressing so far this season. West Coast had a made a surprising comeback from being bottom of the ladder at the end of last season and Sydney were just playing great footy, getting on top of the in-form Bombers and drawing with the Demons. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they just couldn't stop the Swans, even at home. The game was tied at the first change, and not much between them for the rest of the match, until West Coast got up by 2 goals in the last quarter. Sydney then came back, kicking 6.1 to West Coast's 3.0 in the final tern to get away with a 13 point win. The Swans are so far unbeaten this season and sitting comfortably third on the ladder under Collingwood and Geelong.

West Coast played consistently and were led by Matthew Priddis with 27 disposals, Adam Selwood with 24 and big Dean Cox with 2 goals, 20 disposals and a dominating display at clearances. Quinten Lynch was great up forward for the Eagles with 4 goals.
