This is a story about saying yes. Yes, that is a real US Patent with my name. I love helping to get a good idea off the ground, even if it isn’t mine. To be a part of something great coming to life is an unique experience, especially when it’s part of creating a Start Up. When the founders of MVPIndex approached me with their idea, I knew there was something there - to be able to measure and manage the social media impact of athletes, teams, and even brands brought data and insight to a realm that had been run with a lot of “gut instinct.” MVPIndex asked me to create their first algorithm, and I said yes. I had no clue how to make an algorithm, nor had I ever built such a thing before, but I said yes. I said yes because I knew I had all the tools, the background, and the know-how to make this work - but that didn’t make it easy. Honestly, I waffled and wandered on it for a while until, one late night after a Digital Dallas I chained myself to an unlimited coffee bar and delicious food from BuzzBrews, and told myself I wasn’t leaving until I was done. The first version of this algorithm was built in Excel - it was what I knew best! I built a tailored random number generator to create a data set that would somewhat mirror real life - you had to refresh the spreadsheet over and over again to generate new populations. That little spreadsheet became a patent. Ideas are nothing without execution, and same goes for this baby idea. I owe all the credit in the world to MVPIndex, and the team that built on this idea, made it even greater, and brought it to life: Stan Woodward, Shawn Speith, Kyle Nelson, Vic Savelli, and Powell McKinney - thank you for the chance to make a dream come true. #patentholder. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp5AOusHJr2/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=12ri9eny2lg0e
