Firefly complete. I had intended for this to be a Venetian style stick mask; but the new paper clay recipe I was testing out dried too heavy. So it got downgraded to wall hanging and I made it a bit more elaborate since I wasn’t worried about the weight anymore. (The outer layer is paper mache) One side for when he was shattered and covered in mud, blood and clay. And the other side for when he was fixed. But he’ll always carry that sadness and fear from what he endured. The little bugs on his forehead are fireflies and they’re on the fixed side deliberately. (Not meant as an irritant. More like a personal totem.) They have glowing paint on their tails as well.
