âWhen do you think was the last time you saw the sun rise? Not from a window - actually being outside when the sun rises? I donât think Iâve done that since I was a kid.â

âI hate this. I look ridiculous.â Alice picked at the dress she had to wear. There was so much going on with it, she didnât even know which part she hated most. âWhy does a dress have to be so ornate? Canât I wear something simpler.â Prettier even, but she didnât want to go so far as to say that.
It's just a flesh wound.
âThat is more than just a flesh wound! Where did you get that from?â Belle exclaimed as she rushed to her husbandâs side to examine the wound. âYou have to let me treat that.â She insisted as she pulled him towards the sofa.Â

âYour Highness, I hate to interrupt, but...â LeFou approached, stopping at a reasonably polite distance. His hands shot up to wipe at his cheek the moment he could feel the literal egg on his face.
 âIâm afraid thereâs a bit of a...situation in the dining room.â

âItâs certainly a start, Mal, Iâm just worried itâs not enough. Maybe Iâm being paranoid, but Ben is⌠Heâs my son, and I feel terrible that I havenât protected him the way a father should. That I didnât prepare him enough for his life.âÂ
âItâs not you, your Majesty. The Isle is...very different to here, I was reading âDictatorship for Beginnersâ from the moment I was old enough to read.â When she was older, she aced Advanced Dictatorship, which was probably why she was so willing to hear Ben talk politics, she was kind of hard-wired for it. âYou learn how to be heroes, and we learned how to plot and scheme. There was even this big competition for the best Evil Scheme, and I was the reigning champ. My point is no matter how prepared you are, villains will keep going until they find a plan that works, but Ben is an amazing, sweet guy and thatâs because of you so I think you did pretty great.â

âI canât drink any more,â Waving him away, she laughed, sighing heavily, slumped in the fancy wicker seat. âI swear Iâve had more alcohol than food so far. Hawaiians must not have livers. Or they just like to see us haoles suffer.â

    When a princess is locked away in a castle with a dragon guarding it, it seemed only natural that knights would make attempts to try and rescue her. However, what no one seemed to understand was that Belle didnât wish to be rescued. She was perfectly content to sit in the castleâs well-kept library (in part due to her own efforts), and read any book she pleased. And the dragon was hardly a monster, not anymore at least. When sheâd first arrived at his castle, she had been frightened of course, but she also hadnât expected him to turn into a man at night.
    Sheâd grown quite close to him, cared deeply for him and didnât care that he was a dragon by day. He was her dragon, protecting her from all those who seemed to want to steal her away. When Belle heard the telltale rumbling sounds of her dragon, she wondered if it was another rescue attempt-- it was a wonder they continued throwing themselves at the castle even though none had made it past.
    Looking out the window of the library, she couldnât see what was happening, but from the sounds of it, Belle would have to make sure he wasnât hurt when he changed back. Anxiously, she paced after setting her book aside, distracted and worried (though she likely had no reason to be). As soon as dusk turned the western sky pink, she hurried from the library to the front entrance of the castle, tugging the door open and twisting her fingers together as she waited. Clearly, if the knight or whomever it had been had survived, sheâd have been whisked away by now, but it still didnât curb her worry over her dragon-- over Adam.
@pasunebeteâ liked for a starter.
     đš     it had been so long since she had been back at the castle. nostalgia crept through her as she wandered about the hallways she once knew. though, not every memory was pleasant. such a thought rang true once she found herself stopping beneath a portrait of herself, adam and their father. thereâs a moment of pause, a soft sigh passing her lips before she turns to her brother and asks, â do you think father ever loved me? â
