This was an engineered grounding to install the Walney Offshore Wind Farm extension export cable inland to Heysham (not so sure though). This vessel is completey designed to carry out this kind of operation. The tidal range of the area goes to about 10.4 metres high. You would be surprised how much water comes in with the spring tide and leaves. Entire beaches turned to water.
