would David be into jealous sex you think cos he seemed curious and interested in Patricks jealous streak but it also seems like maybe jealous sex would be too real and maybe cruel since he's had to share people without knowing he was. he seems like the type to crave validation for his partner (specifically Patrick) to want him more than anyone else and to feel passionately about him to the point of unreasonable jealousy
Okay, by jealous sex, I assume you mean David having sex with Patrick while one of them is jealous? I think David would not like to be jealous about Patrick. I think Davidās too afraid of being cheated on/left behind for it to be a fun thing, and for that reason Patrick wouldnāt like it either. I do think David got a kick out of Ken flirting with Patrick; David liked knowing nothing would happen and that Patrick was his. But if it was to the point where David actually felt jealousy, I donāt think it would be pleasant for David or Patrick.
But what it sounds like youāre asking about is Patrick being jealous about David, like he was in House Party. The end of that ep bugs me, because I guess Iām not sure what David and Patrick are really feeling. David might be excited by Patrickās jealousy but also seems to find it funny, and I canāt tell what Patrick meant by saying he was jealous of both Ted and David. But my preferred reading of it is that a) David is excited by the jealousy, and b) Patrick, in typical Patrick fashion, is actually upset enough that he doesnāt want to deal with it (thus the comment about being jealous of both, which is a way to deflect David from digging deeply into how Patrick feels about this), and c) David understands this and treats it like a joke (āNot the answer I was looking forā with a smile and a kiss), so that it ends up not really being a big deal for them.
If you read it that way, David is more concerned about Patrick being happy and comfortable, in which case I donāt think heād ever want Patrick to be jealous in a way that makes Patrick upset or feel worried. Furthermore, when it comes to āunreasonable jealousy,ā--the idea of Patrick getting jealous just because David is talking to other people or touching them or sitting next to them, etc--I think a) David might feel really pleased about someone being so possessive that theyāre jealous of everyone he talks to, but it would gradually erode Davidās trust and self-confidence; he already thinks people canāt love him enough to be faithful to him, so if someone was constantly suspicious of him itād eventually just make him feel like he was unloveable, b) Patrick just isnāt like that, and even if he was, heās too accepting and careful of Davidās feelings to be suspicious.
However, I can see them getting to a point where theyāre open and honest enough with each other that they can play around with it. Ie, Patrick saying āThose guys tonight were into you but they canāt have you because youāre mineā etc. I donāt think theyād get to the point where David would purposely flirt with others to provoke that reaction from Patrick. I think he likes the idea of being faithful because no one ever wanted it from him before. So it would be almost more like role-play for them--and I do think theyād be into role-play.
