"It's not where you wanna be. And I don't wanna be anywhere you don't wanna be."
"David, I promise I will make you so happy here."
"You fucking better."
Day ten ship one is David Rose and Patrick Brewer! 🩷💛💙🏳️🌈
That´s the Cillian Murphy movie, right?
If you're curious about the fic here it is
On This Day in Schitt's Creek: February 18
Well, friends, here it is, the last of one full year of posts. At some point in the next few days, I'll do an aggregate stats post (when I'm able to get it together). Thanks for all your support over the last year!
2019
Fold in the Cheese [david/patrick, T, 2,386] by TayTay4936
David decided it was his turn to be the gift giver for once.
Never Gonna Get My Love [david/patrick, T, 1,051] by @fraudulentzodiac
After missing out on the open mic night, Alexis unearths footage of a very different performance of Patrick's. Inspired by actual Noah Reid song "Never Gonna Get My Love."
Pictures of a different time [david/patrick, G, 1,771] by @theres-a-goldensky
It was liberating to finally get one over on Sebastien Raine -- both literally and figuratively. If it made David feel a little slimy in the aftermath, well, it wouldn’t be sex with Sebastien without the lingering regret and shame anyway. At least this time he did it with his eyes open. And a condom. Patrick meets Sebastien Raine.
Stuck on your heart [david/patrick, G, 2,395] by @theres-a-goldensky
“Thank you!” Patrick said again, beaming at the applause from the crowd, looking so handsome with that stupid acoustic guitar still strapped to him. Was it hot in here? It felt hot to David all of a sudden.
2020
a sweet treat [david/patrick, T, 365] by @hullomoon
David tries to find out who ate the last of the ice cream bars.
“I’ve spent most of my life not knowing what right was supposed to feel like. And then I met you and everything changed. You make me feel right."
"I don't know what I'm ready for, but I am ready for something. And-and I think maybe that something could be with you."

Thanks for the tags, @jamilas-pen and @a-noble-dragon.
@jamilas-pen asked for "stories that prominently feature wheels, wings and other moving things." I searched in vain for a story in which our guys meet and meet again on a train. Any ideas what that might be? Here are two others I thought of immediately: Roads, Rooms, and Revelations by @trueillusion82. Author's summary:
A Schitty redux of the John Hughes film "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles."
My comment:
I love this version of David’s exile to SC. You conveyed his unique combination of pretension and panic perfectly. His evolving appreciation of dear, dear Patrick was also just lovely. I’ll revisit this story whenever I need my heart warmed. +++++++
Such Great Heights by @likerealpeopledo-on-ao3
Author's note: As a nervous flyer, Patrick Brewer has tried to account for every possible mid-air event. He hasn’t, however, accounted for David Rose. Is it love at first flight?
My comment: “I have Thursdays wide open.”
“Oh my god,” David mutters, blush rising from the collar of his sweater. “I don’t even know what that means.”
“Me either, but I think we might pass,” Patrick says, finally finding his voice.
My chuckles about this exchange started last night and have continued until well past noon today.
Okay ow.
Like seriously.
I just finished watching Schitts Creek on Netflix and I (as an extremely stubborn person) have never swapped opinions on a show so significantly. Usually, once I have an initial impression on characters/a show, I DO NOT change my mind. Like, it is engrained on my psyche.
But when Schitts Creek introduced me to David, Alexis, Johnny and Moira, I thought they were the most annoying, self-centred, unwatchable characters that I would ever meet.
And then I kept watching.
And watching.
And watching more.
And the characters slowly developed into people that I felt like I knew. Not just the Rose family, but Twyla, and the Schitts, and Ronnie, and Bob and Stevie and Patrick and Ted. They became this family that I genuinely cared about.
And it was so clear how much the directors cared about the show and how much all the actors really loved their characters. And that just drew me in and in and in until I felt so at home with the show and everything that it represented to me.
So I guess this is a just a random, shameful, apologetic post to inform everyone that they should definitely watch Schitt's Creek because you will not regret it. Muscle through your initial distaste with the characters' actions and you will gain something so lovely in their redemption arcs that are written so well that you don't even see it happening, because the characters get to keep their core beings intact by the end of the show.
Best Wishes, Warmest Regards. <3
Schitt’s Creek’s Patrick and David are what it would be like if Heated Rivalry were a sitcom.
Like imagine Shane doing the acoustic version of “Simply the Best” and Ilya’s dance version.
Ilya: I was ready to get back together days ago!
Shane: Then why didn’t we?
*guilty smile*
Ilya: I’ve never been in this situation before… Where someone’s been so nice… to me. And generous.
Shane: I’m sorry were you holding back on talking to me because you were getting gifts?
Ilya: I was so upset and confused. So upset I barely finished the chocolates.
Shane: This wasn’t meant to be an advent calendar of apologies, it was an olive branch to get you to talk to me!
Ilya: Well now I know…
Shane: Well I now I know while I was torturing myself you were just opening gifts!
Ilya just smiles sheepishly and starts getting to his knees.
