Garcia’s fingers continued tapping against keys, the sound it’s own melody masterpiece. Coding filled her dark screen, the black background and green lettering nearly imprinted against her irises. In her peripheral, she recognized Ben’s form of dress--or lack thereof--and shook her head.

“Can’t right now, sweet thing. No access to the honeypot until I finish building this firewall restructuring.” She tried not to bring her work home, but some days it was inevitable.

Coffee houses weren’t really Artemis’ thing, if she was being honest. She’d much rather buy a cheap brew from the supermarket and make it herself for not for seven dollars a cup, but going a single morning at work without caffeine was enough to drive her to the cafe below her apartment an hour before she was even supposed to clock in. The sweet, intoxicating smell of caramel and whipped cream met her at the door, and she let herself relax at a table by the window. 

She looked around at her surroundings and felt a strange comfort wash over her, and thought for a split second that she could actually become one of those coffee snobs who sit and lounge in places like this all the time for relaxation and such. That is, until she looked at the menu.

“What is a skinny macchiato supposed to be?” She said disgust, dumbfounded.

Penelope’s pale skin flared with the tell-tale crimson of blood on an embarrassed rampage. The look of surprise on Ben’s face only half matched her own shock, but it was the obvious look of lust in her eyes that had the agent’s mind on a tailspin. Penelope might not be a profiler, but she knew men; she knew that salivating, heart thumping look in a man’s eyes, not that it was ever directed at her. And had he been blushing?!
