Alec had changed his mind about how their "alone day" was going to happen. He wanted it to be a big surprise for Jessa. So, early one Saturday morning, he woke up after only getting 3 hours of sleep to get Mia ready to be taken to daycare. During the process of getting her dressed he decided that it was one of the hardest things he had ever done. The whole time he kept handing her pieces of candy to keep her quiet and he had to play little games with her to keep her from trailing off to find her mom. Alec held Mia while he quietly made his way around the house, stuffing diapers and things into his daughter's diaper bag. Mia kept pulling on his shirt sleeve and squirming around, so he decided he just needed to take her to daycare where she could get rid of some of her pent up energy and spend much needed time with other kids. Alec left the house quietly and quickly got Mia strapped into her car seat before giving her a quick peck on the forehead. The drive to the local daycare was quiet and short. Every once in awhile, Mia would ask questions and Alec would answer them honestly in ways that the 2 year old would understand. The first lady he saw at the daycare seemed extremely nice and talked him through a few things. Alec signed a few papers before leaving Mia to play with the other kids there. She didn't seem at all fazed by the fact that he was leaving. He calmed down a bit once he was back in the car, but he was still worried that Jessa had woken up while he was gone. Thankfully she hadn't, for he returned home to complete silence and a still asleep wife. He pumped his fist in the air once before making his way into the kitchen to start making breakfast.
