#parents workshop

Our next parent workshop is September 7 and 8, in Clayton, GA. These workshops are designed to be small (6-10) to individualize the focus on your specific families.

Learn more about your child’s experience.

Understand and practice the tools they are using.

Learn how to identify the needs beneath the behavior and make a plan for your family.

Get support from and connect to other families.

There are times when the workshops can correspond to a visit or discharge, so feel free to talk with your field therapist about this as well.

Learn tools to help enhance your child’s self-esteem and leadership skills. Explore strategies you can implement which will lay the foundation for successful outcomes throughout your child’s transition to adulthood and throughout their lifetime. Participants will leave this workshop with a clear understanding of the Building Blocks of Pride.

Attendees will: • Gain an understanding of the proud and powerful concept • Explore the important role that disability history, culture, and pride play in the lives of people with disabilities • Discuss ways that family members can support the development of pride and power in the lives of their family members with disabilities.

Workshop Registration Fee: FREE An application has been submitted for 3 SCECH’s and Social Work for Contact Hours. Credit will be offered for all workshops, pending approval. Course approval information will be available at the training. (SCECH and SW): $15. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
