A backstory short for Dr. Wasabi?
A child is crying. A young one, with orange hair and red tips. She seems to be no more than ten, and her tears stem from a mother in hospitalization. The grandmother, though one of the most brilliant minds and is often revered as the most successful surgeon in this half of Earthbread... Wishes that she could do more. The other doctors that have come to the prodigy and her granddaughter have stated that nothing can be done.
Gently hushing her granddaughter, and despite her better judgement as a doctor... She made a promise. One she knew she could not keep. Doctors are meant to give hopefulness, but never promise. Yet here Wasabi is, breaking the code. Something that, in the future, will be far too common.
"I'll bring your mother back one way or another!" The grandmother chimed, "I will, I'll bring her back, I promise!"
The child was oblivious at the time. Blind faith in someone who had never brought someone back to life. Medicine and necromancy are not the same, and shouldn't be mixed... Something that the young Mustard would have to learn the hard way later on. Even with a skull as a symbol shared between her and her grandmother, Mustard would never be able to become used to the fact that it was a death that binded the two together.
Two monsters were created on the day of Mustard's mother passing. Not only from the mother, but from the one that created such a horror. An octo-creature that had to be killed before Mustard's very eyes, by the very same one that had brought it to life. Wasabi, too, was a monster in her own right. The despair brought about something wild within her that only Mustard truly could understand and handle.
To the daughter, the promise had been broken. To the creator, the grandmother, the doctor... The promise had only begun to become true.
