❝ The baby was crying, and now I’m crying, and I think I’m making it worse! ❞ Anxceit Virgil to deceit
Strangely, Dee was the one who suggested trying out fostering.
Virgil wasn’t so sure. They weren’t married, and they were in their twenties, so would they even be allowed? And what if he messed up? But Dee was so sure, so confident, and Virgil felt good about it in the end.
So they fostered a small baby called Patton, who was perfect and quiet.
Most of the time.
Deceit had gone out briefly, and Patton had started crying. Virgil did his best to help, but nothing was working and he just didn’t know what to do. What was he doing wrong?
He finds himself crying, rocking the baby gently.
“Come on, come on...what am I doing wrong?” Virgil sobs, and grabs his phone, dialing Dee.
So Dee answers the phone, hearing the baby crying and Virgil sobbing, and assumes something bad is happening.
“The baby was crying, and now I’m crying, and I think I’m making it worse!”
Dee sighs, but smiles.
“Don’t worry, I’m on my way. You two just relax, and I’ll come help.”
