Goliath Dossier: Paranthus
Name: Paranthus
Nickname/Titles: Shield Against Extinction
Size Class: Goliath
Physical Description: Paranthus is a derivative of a line of arthropods long vanished from the face of the earth otherwise: trilobites. His limbs have reduced in number due to a terrestrial lifestyle, with the forelimbs becoming reinforced arms with large shield like protrusions. On these large forelimbs, large false eyespots like that of moths exist to distract other goliaths.
Notable Abilities/Traits
Immovable Object: Using the shield like forearms, Paranthus can pull a sudden defensive wall that has the ability to reflect most threats. This does however, block a good deal of his vision.
Shrill Screech: Paranthus can emit a high pitched whine, and when mixed with the false eyes on the wall make him seem much larger and aggressive than he is.
Ball and Legs: When push comes to shove, Paranthus can nearly roll his entire lower body into a ball, with the giant forelimbs sticking out. He can use this mode to both violently launch himself at others and move much faster than he could on his normal six legs.
History of Interaction with Mankind: At the end of the only survivor's story of his escape from the The Foggy Vales, his tale became more delierous. The eyes within eyes, strange beings that could both talk and yet were not human, and a speedy escape at maximum velocity were hardly believed. Still, the name of the supposed creature Paranthus was recorded. And ever since then, there had been strange sightings of massive pillbugs running around the hills...
Danger Ranking: 3. Paranthus is more likely deliruim than reality, but stranger things emerged during the Resurgence. And if it actually is goliath sized, it could pose a very real threat.
