Fire Emblem 3 Houses Character Sorter... But Itâs Paralogues
So now that Iâm nearing the end of the Church route, between this and my Blue Lions run Iâve had a chance to play every Paralogue besides Edelgardâs, Hubertâs and Claudeâs. So if youâre wondering about how I rank all of them, I decided to use a 3H character sorter but do it based on whose Paralogues I liked more. Here are the results:Â 1: Marianne Excellent story and gameplay, a unique plot-relevant boss who speaks, somehow managed to be FUN despite being a Fog map full of Beasts.Â
Linhardt & Leonie Mostly for the unique boss and its lore implications. I feel this shouldâve been Bernadettaâs Paralogue though.Â
Seteth & Flayn Nice wholesome reveals about them, on a map thatâs only repeated in skirmishes, with varying enemy behaviour based on which boss you defeat first. Whatâs not to like?Â
Annette & Gilbert A semi-plot-relevant boss (shame about the generic portrait), manages to make the constantly re-used âKingdom Townâ map feel unique, nice development for the two of them, and her Relic is not what I was expecting.Â
Rhea (Need a C support with her before the timeskip to unlock this) Being one of the VERY few times you fight a certain kind of enemy helps it stand out. And thereâs a nice reward.Â
Cyril & Hilda Not a particularly involved map but it looks nice, works well and Hildaâs Relic is amazing.Â
Raphael & Ignatz Great character moments for those two and a decent map.Â
Felix Again, great character moments, and actually competent NPCs?!
Lorenz Basically the same map as Raphaelâs, except you get to beat up Acheron and get Lysitheaâs Relic of Doom, so those are pluses.Â
Dimitri Really annoying Bolting/Meteor Warlocks up north, but other than that itâs okay.Â
Ashe & Catherine Nice closure to the Western Church and Lonato plot (assuming you do their supports afterwards), but the map itself is a bit boring and has annoying Pegasus reinforcements.Â
Dedue Pretty basic overall, though it has repercussions later.Â
Sothis Defines the âmiddle of the roadâ to me. Not awful, just not amazing either.
Sylvain For some reason this never really stood out to me.Â
Caspar & Mercedes I donât like the Death Knight. Both in story and gameplay.Â
Manuela & Hanneman Screw you Pegasus Knights! The funny banter saves this from being lower.Â
Alois & Shamir Just overall boring. The mapâs nothing special and it does nothing for world building or character development.Â
Ferdinand & Lysithea A HUGE, long, tedious Rout map. The amazing world building revealed in it is the only thing saving it from the bottom spot.Â
Bernadetta & Petra SCREW THIS MAP! Those late reinforcements SUCK if youâre playing blind. Any why is Bernadetta even here? She had so much potential for good Paralogues (coughLetUsFightHerFathercough) but sheâs just tacked-on to someone elseâs.
Dorothea & Ingrid Not only is it an annoying map with cheap reinforcements, but it does NOTHING for Ingrid OR Dorotheaâs development. Ingridâs arranged marriage situation is explained better in supports and she gets handed her Relic out of nowhere, and Dorotheaâs really only here because she hates nobles. Why couldnât she have got a Paralogue dealing with her opera days? And weâre just TOLD Ingridâs fiance is a jerk without being SHOWN why. He really shouldâve been the mapâs boss.Â
