          Well, considering Adrian’s… Nosiness CURIOSITY, this matter was bound to pop its head at some point. Better late than never, he supposes, and Nero allows himself to chew and swallow the bite of food in his mouth before he begins to speak. 

          ‘  …SHE’S MY FRIEND.  ’ No, she is more than just a friend. She’s more of a PARTNER to him, something quite similar to what Lady and Trish are to Dante… And yet, even that doesn’t begin to cover it appropriately. ‘  She… Helped me out the day dad took my arm, y’know.  ’ A pause to take a sip from his drink, as well as laugh to himself at the thought alone. ‘  Apparently she tied up my arm with a wire to stop the bleedin’ and then BURNED THE WOUND with Red Queen.  ’ A brief tilt of his head, which makes it look like Nero is trying to remember the rest of the story. ‘  Kyrie says she wouldn’t stop clinging onto my jacket when they were chillin’ in the waiting room.  ’ That’s what he was trying to remember. His sister had entrusted him with that knowledge as a secret they would both take to their grave. They both know of Nico’s rage, after all. 

Lars didn’t mind the rain. It settled the smell of smoke that constantly hung in the air, and washed away the macabre sights of war. While the greenery was far from lush as of late, the showers served to keep them alive—contrary to what was around them.

He inhaled deeply, allowing the crisp air to fill his lungs. It was then that his view of the sky was obstructed by the cast of an umbrella.

Alisa’s chipper voice soon followed, announcing the forecast to him as he canted his head to look at her.

     now was his silent anger, he wondered, worth the energy?

               it was, it is and always will be.

he has been watching yeul from not afar, treading slowly along the meadow‘s edge with eyes fixated on her ― similarly to how a parent would watch their child play in the garden, as the caring, protective figure who will patch up little wounds on knees and accept flower crowns to wear.

          at least that was what he wished to do.

alarms ringed out of the blue when the girl came abruptly to a halt and moved oddly, making him cross the field of wildflowers in large steps.

❝ what is it? ❞ tone warm, yet laced with worry ( his once devoted prayers for her life already gone dry and hope remained thus on own shoulders ), battle-worn, rough hands tenderly offering the seeress the needed hold and balance. she seemed devastated by something that so suddenly dawned upon her, voice weak and words merely stuttered, and these carried a dark meaning.

he perfectly knew what it implied. again. who will have mercy on this child?

her little frame is taken into an embrace, even if cold metal of his armour was not the most welcoming thing to lean upon. much more spoke the gesture itself, the openly displayed wish to comfort, to reassure her of his unconditional care.
