I'm currently rewatching MHA from the beginning again before I can watch the final season, and I've reached specifically Shigaraki's origin episodes (season 5 episode 111, BTW).
I never really picked up on Tenko's allergy as relevant information, but it strongly reminds me of Overhaul, looking back at it now. His allergy is not to be taken literally, as there doesn't appear to be an actual physical thing he's reacting to— it's based on emotions. The same with Overhaul, his hives aren't a literal irritation to "filth" as some people think, the hives occur based on his emotions as well
The scene of Shigaraki growing increasingly itchy as he remembers his childhood with Hana... feels identical to Overhaul developing hives when remembering his childhood with Pops.
