Spotlight, so bright and shiny with voices screaming and faces speaking. Magic, feeling waves of joy and sadness as we vibe to this sound expressing memories shared, even though this was our first time crossing. Dancing wild and falling face first into unconsciousness, photos and videos the only way we’ll recollect what happened. Monday comes, time to hide ourselves till next time. Coffee, Ritalin, or Prozac? Which one helps you adult for the public? My personal favorite is silencing my tongue, faking a smile, and looking like I’m busy. Friday comes, but something feels different. It’s 2021. I swear that calendar is broken. I only meant to play pretend for a season. But, 15 years passed. Oh heck, wish I did things different. All grown up, no longer one who frequents parties, clubs, bars, or intoxicated adventures. Monday to Friday extended to Sunday. 33 now, still a baby to many, leader to many others. Is it too late to have a midlife crisis? I hope not. Do I get more than one? I hope not. It feels like I crossed that bridge a thousand times already. Can we get real now, or should I keep pretending that you’re not listening? I hate this existence as much as I love it. I cherish trust as much as I fear it. I need you as much as I avoid you. I proclaim that I am human as much as pray that others are not like me. I’m as insecure as I pretend to have it together. I want pity as much as I want failure. Anyways, I’m out of words. Have a good one, or one like mine … a messy one.
