listening to lutoslawski string quartet so looked him up @ google. was reminded of andrej panufnik, i remember liking some of his music way back when.... then i found out panufnik has a daughter that is still active as a composer in england and listened to a bit of her stuff. couldn*t find anything i want to bring to this site tho. u might want to explore some more-daughter is Roxanna Panufnik. i think i am spelling all this Right but i really dunno..... happy friday

"Established by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in 2011, the I, CULTURE Orchestra (ICO) is an ensemble of outstanding young musicians from Poland and the Eastern Partnership member states – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The mission of the I, CULTURE Orchestra is to foster positive change in the cultural and social development of the countries of Eastern Europe and Southern Caucasus through enterprises of the highest artistic quality." This year they are conducted by Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits and their concerts included Panufnik's „Sinfonia Elegiaca“ and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7 in C major, Op. 60 „Leningrad“ - both pieces that have been said to be protests against the brutality of war.
