Detective Pikachu Writer Reveals Why Film Connects...
Nope. Doesnāt line up age wise (Harry has a son in his 20ās. The man is not in his 30ās) and there are a few problems...
I mean. We are talking a split-second assumption before Mewtwo would realize,Ā āOh shit, wait, thatās not him.ā So I think the theory works just fine (especially because, as an around 20-year-old himself, Mewtwo would probably have trouble distinguishing between a 30- and 40-year-old human man. And letās be real--Ash lives a hard life. Kid would go prematurely gray anyway).Ā
As for him repeating the sentiment of the father-son duo teaching him that not all humans are bad--yes, that is odd, but given that he just got recaptured, experimented on, and had someone hijack his body, I could see him being like,Ā āWell maybe Ash was an exception to the rule.āĀ
Plus, the Mewtwo in the videogames--with the exception of the game this movie was based on--canāt talk, as far as I know. You could headcanon that he learned how to speak over twenty years, but I feel like thatās stretching things farther than Mewtwo just having a lapse in faith in humanity when he was, again, captured and abused by them.Ā Ā Ā
