as a sidenote on that spiderverse post about peni parker's design. did anyone else think it was also alarming that alberto mielgo's design for spiderverse (a schoolgirl) was very similar to his design for an exotic dancer that's shown in a very sexual context in love, death + robots? anyone else think that was, how do you say,...Fucking weird?

im mad. male teachers at my school keep organizing events over the summer and only invite male students. i keep hearing excuses like "oh we dont want women to feel uncomfortable being around almost all men" so they exclude us entirely. or i've heard that they only invite the most talented/hardworking students which is bullshit firstly because i've seen some of those students completely slacking in their classes, and that's also insinuiating that there isn't a single talented or hardworking female student in their classes. i get that they are organizing these things in their free time and that it's not associated with the school, but the game industry is so fucking small and it really is about being part of the community and knowing the right people. how am i supposed to feel good about entering the games industry when i'm already being excluded at my own fucking school, in what should be my community. where is my support system??
