Merry Christmas, Panda. I saw you post about something along these lines on Discord a while ago. I hope it's okay!

Often times we pray for the big blessings all the while forgetting to give thanks for the ordinary, small blessings. We have become so spiritually and materialistically greedy that we begin to see other experiences as pious. It's easy for one to say "I will follow the Lord," but what are words when there are no actions that follow?  Many will say that they follow the Lord, but their actions, or lack there of, show that their greed begets greed and they only follow the Lord when they are in need of great blessings. They pray to the Lord only when the foundation has crumbled and the house has already fallen. However, where in the time that the house was being built, did they give thanks? Where in the time that the foundation was starting to crack did they show humility and bend their knees? Often times people only pray to God when they are in need of a quick fix. They fail to realize that the path God has laid out for us, is a long and arduous path full of obstacles that we have to hurdle over. As you walk the path God has laid before you, it is apparent that you will trip and fall. You will stumble as you try to jump the hurdles; However, you mustn't stay down. You have to find the strength within your own spirit to stand back up, dust off your knees, and continue walking down that path. So God is never a quick fix. You can't simply pick up the phone and call 1-800-Call God. It doesn't work that way. Great blessings will come but only at the hands of your own humility and humbleness. Take off those blinders and start being thankful for the things that you do have and stop asking for things that you don't have. All will come together in time. Learn patience all the while learn your own self. Trust in the Lord and he will get you there. Don't only pray to the Lord when you are in need or out of desperation. Pray to Him everyday to thank Him for all the blessings that He has given you. Don't pray out of selfishness. Pray for others as well. Pray for your enemies too.
