#PANCITMOLO Trivia: Pancit Molo originated in a town in Iloilo called Molo. Pancit Molo is more of a soup rather than a pancit (which is noodle in Tagalog). Pancit Molo has similarity with Wonton Noodle Soup kaya tinawag na din siguro na "Pancit" kasi yun ang Tagalog term ng "Noodle." In English "Wonton Noodle", in Tagalog "Pancit Molo". Gets? Hehehe Disclaimer lang, yung original recipe may kasamang shrimp yung wonton/dumpling, kaso wala akong shrimp on hand. PANCIT MOLO Ingredients: (Dumpling) 1/4 kg Ground Pork 1 medium size Egg 1 tsp Salt 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper 1 tbsp Cornstarch 2 tbsp Scallion/ Onion Leaves 1 tbsp Sesame Oil Wonton/ Molo Wrappers Water, to bind both ends of the Molo Wrapper (Soup) Cooking Oil Garlic, minced Onion/ Shallot, finely chopped Scallion/ Onion Leaves Shredded Chicken Salt and Pepper to Taste Fish Sauce Chicken Stock Water Chicken Broth Cube Toasted Garlic Sesame Oil *You can add leftover dumpling filling if ever there is. Or dumpling wrappers, whichever is left. Walang tapon! P A N C I T M O L O There was a huge Chinese settlement in the Philippines because it was a key geographic location for trade. The wonton soup was introduced in the seaport town of Molo and what makes this version Filipino is the introduction of Spanish garnishes like fried garlic and adding fish sauce among other things. We typically have this during the New Years timeframe in my family. Brandon and I didn’t go home this holiday season so this is our way of experiencing home.
