Story:

Magpiepaw had never been good at following rules. Or even listening to rules. Basically if there was a rule-- even a suggestion of a rule-- she zoned out.

So when she was told ‘kits aren’t allowed out of the camp ever” she didn’t exactly absorb this information.

One warm greenleaf day, when she was ‘grounded’ for ‘inciting chaos and shenanigans,’ she decided to play with the kits. They were all close to being five moons old, so why shouldn’t they be allowed out of camp? What could the harm be?

The harm was a badger.

The patrol found her hiding in a hollow log, shaking like a leaf, glassy-eyed and dazed. Her tail had been torn off.

They found the kits.... elsewhere.

Magpiepaw was brought before the Clan and put on trial. Even her own parents looked disgusted as Palestone accused her of leaving the kits to die. The Clan collectively agreed that she had deliberately lured the kits there, that she was jealous of them. 

They put her under guard, and the medicine cat reluctantly bandaged her tail.

If the medicine cat had been concerned, they would’ve noticed that she was already in shock.

If Palestone hadn’t been busy yelling at her for the deaths of the kits, he would’ve noticed when she slipped away.

But no one noticed when Magpie finally fell silent.

Story:

He was cursed.

That was the only explanation for why all of his apprentices died.

Sweet Magpiepaw, who only wanted to play-- mutilated by a badger and left to die.

Stonepaw, his own nephew, had been killed by a twoleg!

Fenpaw had drowned in a puddle,

Mosspaw had been poisoned,

And Perchpaw--the little asshole-- had snuck out to Snakerocks and gotten killed by an adder!

He sighed and waited for the herbs to kick in.

Hopefully he would see them again in Starclan.

He smiled as he imagined Stonepaw and Magpiepaw learning how to give prophecies. Knowing Magpie, she would definitely struggle a little, but he could help her.

He just hoped that she would forgive him.

Story:

Magpiepaw was the only cat in Thunderclan who had been kind to him consistently.

When she died, he had originally planned to kill Tanagerwing, but the medicine cat was much bigger than him.

So he settled for Magpiepaw’s former mentor.

He lured Palestone to the Twolegplace by yowling for help outside the nest of a mean twoleg, who came out yelling and throwing rocks at him.

Palestone came to his ‘rescue’ accompanied by a patrol, and Stonepaw felt a pit in his stomach as the dogs were released.

They killed the patrol all right. All but Palestone and Ravencry.

Stonepaw watched, horrifed as the dogs tore through the patrol, so caught up in the carnage that he didn’t see the rock coming for his head.

The last thing he saw was Palestone’s horrified face, before his body was shredded by dogs.

Story:

Perchpaw had heard the stories about the Disrespectful apprentice. He had also determined from the stories that she had been a moron. All she did was break one little rule a couple times!

He could do better than that.

He snuck in thorns to the apprentice and elders’ den, cackling and running away when his mentor, Palestone, tried to scold him. He killed prey for fun, and pretended to not care when the elders told their stories.

One day, on patrol, Palestone pointed out Snakerocks and told him-- in no uncertain terms-- that he was forbidden from going there. Ever.

That seemed stupid, so on the night of the gathering--when he was banned from going and Palestone wasn’t keeping an eye on him, he snuck out and ran to Snakerocks, snickering as he imagined Palestone’s face when he was found.

He felt a stinging pain in his leg as he climbed, but brushed it off as just a thorn. But as he climbed higher, he started to realize too late that he was wrong.
