Happy Valentines Week !!

Last Friday was our Unified Acquaintance Party. Everyone was invited but not all attended. So it was a night to mingle and lock eyes and rub your body against hot dudes or hot girls. I went with my four friends, because I have that few friends and I don’t do well with large groups.

We had lady drinks first and I had two Marlboros. Dizziness kicked in for a while but was gone three minutes after pumping my fists into the air and jumping. I scanned the dance floor (which was the court) for tall and cute guys. And I spotted a group of them, well just one of the group. They were the basketball team of the CTE department, so that was a plus. I tried to make my way (our way rather) to them but there were all these girls grabbing and pushing and trying to hug them, that was a bummer.

We danced and danced and whipped hairs for quite some time when this cute guy, he’s not much taller than me when I’m wearing my Nike wedged kicks, started dancing with me. I had no choice but to put my arms around him and grind. Our hot dance routine lasted for 10 seconds and he was off. I was offended. Like I have never been offended. No one ever walks out on me like that especially when I’m dancing. But he was so cute so I proceeded to looking out for him in case there was a chance I could dance with him again.

Few songs passed, a friend of my girl friend passed by and they had a chitchat for a while and danced with her, and he was bringing the whole pack with him (basketball team of CTE). So I was dancing, like how I would dance when guys are around and the guys were swarming around me. I finally had my chance to flirt with their captain when my guy friend held out his hand like he was searching for me and dragged me away from them. And he says; “Ikaw ba, wa ka kapansin nga gituyokan na ka nila? (translation: “Hindi mo ba napansin na inikutan ka na nila? Another translation: “Didn’t you noticed the guys surrounding you?”. And I was like: “DUH?! Isn’t that what they’re supposed to do??”. I stopped myself from strangling him the whole time.

I get his kind, polite and caring gesture, but can’t I have just one night where I can have fun and forget all my inhibitions and problems and remember how it was when a lot of guys notices you? Too bad, my friend just can’t give me that.

I let it go and decided to just have fun and get wet. Like literally wet because (1) it was raining hard and (2) someone showered me with 5 gallons of water. I was enjoying it finally when my guy friend (yes, the one who dragged me away from the hot guys) was suddenly becoming “attractive” to the girls. I mean yeah he kinda is, but we’re friends so he doesn’t count. Our school is dried up of hot guys and the cutest guy on the dance floor, the one I danced with, was probabbly a freshmen, so it’s no surprise that girls would cling to guys like they were Celines that were on sale. So this happened like 5 times during the 3 hours we were dancing and they weren’t just dancing and grinding with him, they were taking pictures of him. I was furious. He doesn’t let me dance with the hot dudes but he can be clung to and grinded to by girls and homosexuals. I had to be a bitch and dragged him away from the crowd and danced with him with my arms around him just so the girls would go away. I had to get back at him.
