Paddle bow for the holiday: While at the Home Depot purchasing lights and other gobblie gook, I decided to grab a piece of red oak.
I cut off the last 6” and glued it into the center of the board to build up a stiff handle. Working with the remaining 66”, I drew on a new paddle bow layout that I’ve been kicking around.
I used the drawknife, Surform and rasp to remove wood down to my lines. The starting point for thickness of the limbs is .625” or 5/8”.
This took an hour to complete, not counting the dry time for the glue.
