   FUSION was still a very strange concept to Lars. Of course, he TRAVELED with two permafusions, but he had never seen Fluorite or Rhodonite unfused -- and he would never dream of asking them to -- He’d seen Steven and Connie, Stevonnie, fuse together; and that had been QUITE THE EXPERIENCE. He was still learning, and still getting used to the concept of Gems being able to fuse; to make something new and amazing. Like Fluorite. Like Rhodonite. Like Garnet ---     Speaking of Garnet, with the way that Rhodonite sometimes felt about herself, Garnet seemed to be taking some time to help her come to terms with the fact that a fusion of love is never a bad thing; something Lars didn’t even think twice about, but apparently Homeworld frowned upon.    Albeit, with the way Garnet spoke of herself -- and all that he had heard about her -- he wasn’t expecting her to unfuse to introduce the two smaller gems to the Off Colors.

                  She knew PERFECTLY who it was, — — the gem, the voice, even the hands that covered her eye ( & ) didn’t let her see. It wasn’t ONLY because of the FUTURE VISION that gave her — — — ADVANTAGE of the situation but the WARMNESS of her hands, the harsh ( & ) UNIQUE voice she knew so well. It was NOTICEABLE that she had already guessed by the lovely giggles out, — a painted grin from cheek to cheek. It was a familiar sensation, ——— calmy replying while TEASING playfully. ❝ Oh —— I TOTALLY don’t know ~ ❞

                     Sapphire followed up Ruby’s — LITTLE GAME. The gauntleted hands pressed against the soldier’s ones. She could barely — — feel half of them with such TINY palms. ❝ I hope it is —— — MY PRETTY WIFE so that I can kiss all her gorgeous face ~ ! ❞

she can’t help the smile that comes to her face when sapphire giggles ; such a lovely sound ! and it’s contagious enough that ruby has a few giggles of her own that escape. she knows she could never surprise sapphire this way, and it’s never her intention to ; but such a simple little thing still becomes such an enjoyable moment.

ruby listens to her lover ponder, pretend she has no idea, and feels her dainty hands press against her own larger ones. it’s when sapphire guesses “ her pretty wife “ that the soldier’s metaphorical heart starts to beat a little faster, because yes ! she’s her wife !! they’re married !!
