DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- "Komunidad ng Pamilya, Pasyente at Persons with Disabilities" (P3PWD) party-list organization is gearing up for an impactful campaign in the Negros Island Region (NIR), including Bacolod and Dumaguete City on Tuesday (February 11th, 2025 -- Dumaguete local time).

Led by former Cadizanon Mayor, former COMELEC Commissioner and current national lawyer 'Ma. Rowena Amelia Villena Guanzon'; P3PWD, shortened for "Community of Families, Patients and Persons with Disabilities is a political organization that advocates for the rights and welfare of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and patients. P3PWD is listed as ballot #8 in the Philippine elections and aims to represent the interests of PWDs and patients in the House of Representatives (HR).

This year's campaign focuses on stopping discrimination, addressing student bullying in school, especially the worst dislikes at West City Elementary School (WCES) in Cervantes Street, fighting against fake PWD IDs nationwide, the entire PWD benefits as a whole and other issues tackled are given pursuant to the Magna Carta law. Guanzon alone is a seasonalized PWD rights advocate, stressed how crucial it is to raise awareness and promote inclusivity for the People with Disabilities.

Awareness is vital for the Filipino communities -- so that their voices is recognized and their rights are upheld. 'Mr. Rhayniel Saldasal Calimpong' is one of them with Asperger Syndrome, now worked online at home in his lone residence of Brgy. Pulantubig. The P3PWD campaign works towards building a society where PWDs can live without facing discrimination or bullying in schools. By confronting these issues, the organization aspires to better the lives of PWDs and patients.

Earlier on Monday night (February 10th), a short meeting was conducted with OneNETtv Channel's Station Manager 'Ms. Miko Kubota-Nieves' via WhatsApp phone call (part of Meta Platforms Inc. [MPi]), cleared for a go signal and approved to start the election campaign in Dumaguete City and several of them in cities and municipal areas of NIR effective immediately. ONC secured the sponsorship with P3PWD to support local internet journalism in Negros Oriental, up until the finale of election results at the end of voting.

Apart the P3PWD party-list, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced this week, has finally implementing its "Oplan Baklas", the election body's campaign to remove illegal campaign materials in public places all over the country, now including the province of NIR, as the campaign period started. With this, the conduct of politics and election in this period for whatever reason is assured to be absolutely clean and fair.

With the upcoming elections, it is essential for the people of Negros Island Region to participate responsibly and make informed decisions to yourself. P3PWD's campaign, led by Guanzon is a significant step for the Negrosanon community towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society for PWDs and hospital patients altogether.
