He was under strict orders when he left the Hospital Wing, bed rest for at least two days, which seemed ridiculous but as all his professors had already been informed he really couldnāt argue. It had been an odd few hours, heād wanted to leave as early as possible but Longbottom had made him stay in a little longer, made sure he ate a small breakfast and gone over all the instructions sheād given him earlier that he reluctantly agreed to follow. Honestly, he just needed to get out of there, even though heād slept reasonably well for a change he found himself with as little energy as before. It was Sunday, how itād come around so fast, heād told himself just to get through the week and that was fine but now the day was here and so far it had gone incredibly slowly. It was at least noon by the time he was headed back to Slytherin, a small pouch of potions in one hand and written instructions in the other, and honestly he was almost glad that heād have to stay in his dorm for a few days. Thatās all he felt like doing anyway. He wanted to shut himself up there, spend all his time curled up in bed, block out everything else for a while if possible.
His lack of presence last night seemed to have gone unnoticed by his housemates, thankfully, who didnāt even acknowledge him as he wandered through the common room and cut down the hall towards the dorm. He hadnāt showered yet this morning, had done a half-arsed job of tying his hair up earlier, and debated whether or not he had the energy to do anything other than sleep when he opened the dorm door, not paying attention when he went to close it behind him and called softly,Ā āAli? Have you been fed this morning?ā He turned around again and then stopped short, his mouth dropping open in surprise when he finally noticed he wasnāt alone. So much for discrete.

the end of the day rolls around far too slowly. sungho wants to home, he wants to see his roommate for the few moments he can keep his eyes open before sleep takes him. more than anything, he just wants to be out of the building. but first things first, he needs to pack up everything he brings with him for the day. usually it's a smooth process, a simple checklist in his head that he runs through without a hitch. but today must be his lucky day or something, because for the life of him he just cannot find his headphones.
he checks his own pockets first, then the crevices of his bag that he doesn't usually investigate. no luck. he checks the room where he remembers having them out, and then his pockets again. where the fuck are the little bastards?? sungho has been looking for all of two minutes before he's ready to rip his hair out.
whirling on the only other lingering trainee in the room, a boy who he has no recollection of speaking to, sungho glares. "where's my fucking earbuds?" the words come out more accusatory than he means them to be; he meant to ask for help, to ask the other boy if he's seen them anywhere. instead anger gets the better of him and words happen on their own accord.

NOTES: Elliott and Sam go to the Special Vigil at Time Square.
Content Warning: None.
Elliott once again was walking quickly through the streets of New York accompanied by Sam. This time they were going to the vigil/protest for the missing people, Elliott hoped they could find something more there about all missing LNs but especially about Kurt. He was the priority now, though he didn't know what Sam thought about it. Things had been extremely awkward between them but now that he had needed Sam to get out of NYADA so often, he felt bad ignoring him all the time. However, when he thought topics to talk about he only could think what bothered him the most about his last text messages with the Witch "You know... it's kind of like... really shitty what you said" he finally opened his mouth, he just couldn't help it "I don't think half of the time you understand what you are doing, or what you are saying... it's just... get's on my nerves" he explains tired of the long silences "You even said you weren't looking for Kurt because he is not your friend... honestly, that makes me question if you really even care about any LN missing because... none of them are your friends, right?" he sighed.
Sam had been focused on trying to figure out what to do so he could be more of a help to find those who were missing. Now out with Elliott again for the vigil/protest, he wondered if it would be another outing just full of silence. But when Elliott spoke, he listened. It was one of the first times that Elliott actually spoke about what was bothering him and Sam had the decency to hear him out. When he heard what Elliott said, at first he felt the need to defend himself, but...he was right. He hadn't been focused on Kurt at first. But not because he didn't care, but he didn't feel he had the right to. "Not all of the missing LN are friends of mine, that's true. But there are some people I know who are missing, including my friend Brett. His sponsor and I have talked about it and tried to find out anything but many of the LN on campus haven't been open to talking to us. The only reason we know anything is because of a Satyr they both know, Gemma." He then focused on Kurt, knowing that was the one thing that connected him and Elliott. "As for Kurt, we never have gotten along, I admit and at first, I didn't know if I should even look for him. But...thinking about that, it's pretty stupid and selfish." He thought back to the words he said to Marley, knowing he couldn't just slap a sorry on it. "But yesterday I began trying. It was just hard to do it on my own because I didn't know where to look. I don't know anything about him. All I thought to do was go to the Herbarium shop." He said. Even if explaining himself still didn't change anything, hopefully they could get somewhere by actually talking.
Elliott couldn't stop himself from rolling his eyes as he walked next to Sam, it all sounded like excuses, and until recently he didn't even hear about that Brett friend Sam mentioned so much lately, but he didn't want to think Sam was so pathetic to invent somebody just to look good, he believed someone actually called Brett was missing and Sam apparently cared about them. "Well, good for you..." he wanted to say sarcastically, but he didn't, if Sam actually discovered something, then he may as well ask and get informed himself "Really? and what did you discover?" he asked interestedly.
Sam didn't miss the eyeroll and he had to bite back a strong huff. Of course that's how Elliott would respond. It was just hard to defend himself when it seemed like he was met with pushback. "According to Heather, one of her employees was talking about a Changeling who wanted to get hybridized plants." He looked at Elliott as he spoke. "I gave her Kurt's description to see if it was him, but she didn't know for sure so I let Marley know what I found out. The other thing was that the Changeling was drinking tea that had something in it that was unhealthy for them." He shrugged his shoulders. "It's not much to go on, I know."
Elliott frowned confused by the information but he noted it mentally to texts the others when he came back "Any information is helpful to look for him, I don't know if it is related to him being missing but... who knows... better having something than nothing..." he shrugs, as they keep walking he suddenly hears a crowd of people talking loudly, chanting in protest for their loved ones, it seemed they had arrived finally. "Oh aether... " he looks around overwhelmed by the number of people there, he was used to crowded protest, but it made him so sad to see all those people holding missing posters, all of them still hoping they will find their loved ones, and there were so many of them. Elliott was looking at each photo and poster, taking pictures of the crowd, when he noticed on the posters some familiar faces. "There, there, Sam!" he said to the witch, "I know those faces, they were on the posters at the Holey Olive too... and those over there" he pointed other posters "Those guys worked with Colin, I actually met them at a protest too..." he says sadly, there were so many people missing it was hard to keep count how many of them he actually knew "Come on, maybe the people holding their photos can tell us something" he gestured Sam to get into the crowd with him.
Sam nodded his head, "It is." He almost forgot he should tell Elliott about his trip with Dani, not wanting to assume she would have just told him. And he had offered to share information. "Oh, I don't know if you had a chance to talk to Dani but when I was out with her earlier today, we went to the LN Protection Committee..." he realized just how strange the name sounded considering how little was known. "We were able to find out that someone had updated Kurt's file to have his belongings cleared out on the 19th." Just as he said this, they arrived at the vigil. "Oh..." he could barely speak, he was taken aback by the sheer amount of people. The missing posters, some he recognized, some he didn't. "I remember." He had made sure to look at the faces in case he himself knew them. But he didn't know as many as Elliott and he felt his heart break for his...well, whatever they were. His heart still broke for him. "Okay, let's go." If they cold get farther than they already were, then maybe they could do something about this.
Elliott walked as quickly as he could among the people "excuse me, sorry, sorry... excuse me" he kept saying as he moved forward looking for the girl who was holding the photo of one of the LNs he knew, and also trying to not lose Sam "sorry... excuse me... I need to get to her..." he pointed at a girl a few steps away from them. Once he could walk towards her he tapped her on the shoulder "Hey... sorry, I just..." she turned around and got surprised to see him "Elliott?" she asked "I haven't seen you since... oh aether... so long ago... " Elliott tried to show a smile but it faded away really quick "It's nice to see you, Helen, I wish it was in other circumstances... I don't know if ask how are you doing... I see you holding that picture of Albert..." he looks down sadly "I'm sorry". She shakes her head "It's not your fault, it's no one's fault... except the fucking GOVERNMENT IS DOING NOTHING!" she shouts moving her poster up in the air to be heard and seen among the crowd. It almost makes Elliott smile, he was glad even if terrible things happened there were people who didn't lose their hope and kept fighting "I know it's hard, but would you mind to answer some questions? I... we" he looks at Sam "We are investigating the disappearance of our friend and with all the people missing... we were hoping there was something... maybe something that help us all" he says concerned "Is there something you could tell us about how Albert dissapeared?"
Sam kept up his pace with Elliott, not wanting to lose him. Whatever they discovered, it was better to have someone at the other's side so they could figure out where to go from there. He felt horrible seeing how distraught the girl, Helen, looked. As Elliott asked questions, he decided he should take notes so he didn't forget anything. Pulling out his phone, glad he had charged it up before he left, he opened his notes folder and selected a note file so he could write down anything that could help. Luckily he could type quickly, but it also depended on being careful and listening. "Any help you can give, we'd appreciate it." He added softly, wanting to show that even if she didn't know him, he cared enough to listen.
Elliott was quiet listening to Helen. "Well... there is no much to tell, he just disappeared, I didn't get any explanation... or any indication... one day he was here and then he wasn't... the only thing I could tell you that could be different from other cases is that all his things were taken away, like one day I went to check at his apartment to see if maybe he came back and some guys were taking all away" she explains with her eyes watery "I don't know why this happened... like if he was a criminal or some shit..." Elliott put a hand on her shoulder trying to comfort her, but he knew that would do nothing. When he was about to say something another voice interrupted him "That happened to my friend Emily too" a deep voice coming from an old man with a mustache took Elliott by surprise "She disappeared exactly like that... in a matter of days her things were taken away without explanation" he said more angry than sad "and no one is telling us anything!!" he shout. Elliott looked at Sam, those stories were familiar, weren't they.
Sam was sickened when he heard the stories. They sounded exactly like what happened on campus. "That happened to our friend. He disappeared and yesterday his stuff was taken without warning." He said, feeling even more furious than he did before. This was bigger than he could have ever expected. How could they get the answers they needed when it was happening everywhere? People's things being taken like they were nothing, as though they didn't matter. Sam looked at Elliott, not knowing what they could do next.
Elliott nodded while he listened to their stories, he was glad Sam was taking notes so they will have the information saved somewhere, still, it seemed like a pattern existed so they would be able to remember either way if that was right. He asked them more questions and thanked them both for the information, moving away and asking the same to others with LNs posters, receiving again the same answers. After collecting enough information, Elliott suggested Sam they should stay until the end to show support and protest with the others.
Sam was making sure he got everything down, even writing down names of the missing people he heard about. It would be too hard to name everyone, but the more he got, the more information they could hold onto. Sam agreed with Elliott that they should stay to the end. It was only right that they show their support anyway they could. Eventually, the protest was over but it was too difficult to leave, he found. Like he was going back to not being able to do anything. "Come on, we better get back, let the others know what we found." Sam suggested as they began to walk down a street toward NYADA. But as Sam's eyes fell over the streets, he happened to notice an area with some missing posters clustered together. However, when he looked a little closer, he realized one area was bare. How could that be when the wall across from it was covered in posters. "Elliott, look at the posters. Does something seem off to you about how they're placed? Like one area isn't covered at all but others are."
Elliott was walking next to Sam lost in thought about the things they just discovered when the witch called him. "What?" he looked around where Sam said, in front of them all the walls were empty, but some steps behind them and while they were at the protest, there were posters everywhere. "This is so strange..." he took his phone out and recorded a little showing the empty walls and the ones with posters, then took some photos of the street and the name of it to know where this happened "Why would anyone take posters out? Assholes"
Sam did the same as Elliott, walking closer so he could get photos of the posters that were there to see if there was a difference between them and the posters they couldn't see. He also wrote down and recorded the names of the streets as well in case it could help them later. Of course, this would be hard when he didn't know if there was a noticeable difference if he didn't know what posters had been there. "I don't know, but whoever they are, it gives me a really bad feeling." He could have quoted Star Wars if this was any other moment, but pissing Elliott off, again, was not on his list of things to do.
Elliott took a deep breath, he felt more worried than ever before, not only something was going on with LNs information at the Committee, and their things getting collected for no reason, but someone was also taking off posters. Why they had to be like this? Why did people decide to be cruel and hurt LNs even more than they usually are? That was just insane. "Let's go back to NYADA, maybe if we ask around others have noticed this too or know something else... this is just fucked up"
Sam couldn't say anything more, knowing Elliott had essentially summed it up in a nutshell. Everything about this was fucked up. He came to the unsettling question of whether Kurt's poster had been here. If so, where was it? His stomach churning, he knew he wouldn't be eating later and just looked at Elliott. "Yeah, let's go." He took one last photo, a panoramic shot on his phone so he could have the full scope of the situation before they went back.
Asher was freaking out. While he was starting to get used to freaking out, that one was different. He couldnāt find Scabbers anywhere. Usually, the cat would wander off to Emiliaās room, or the gardens, he would return to Asherās room, but it never did. The boy stopped in the middle of the hallway, trying to calm himself. He didnāt usually freak out like that over Scabbers. He just knew the cat would return at some point, but the weird boy that had talked with him earlier had him on edge. A brunette guard. Michael and Parker. Michael wouldnāt do that to him, but Parker might, in retaliation for Asher kissing Xerxei. Filled with rage, the boy started stomping through the hallway, ready to find the shorter male and beat the shit out of him until he gave his cat back, but his angry walk was cut short by something hitting him square on the chest, making Asher stumble and fall to the ground.Ā āWhat the fuck?!ā
Its late. His apartment is cold, though Ji Ji attempts to alleviate some of that by curling up over his feet.Ā
He considers texting the person he feels comfortable sharing the stories of the cruel things he has done to others. Or rather, felt comfortable with.Ā
Its all confusion now, which causes his want for the other's attention to be stilled in his mind, causes his thumbs to stop and hover over the lit face of his phone.Ā
There is something off enough that he doesn't know how to fix it between them, even if he wants to, because he knows that he is the problem here. He is the problem for letting his foolish unsatisfiable whims surface, and he is the problem for perhaps holding the anger against his friend.Ā
He is angry because Yongguk has allowed himself to linger in this state of emotional weakness for too long. It is not that he wishes the young man to be a molding of steel, in human and unfeeling and strong. No, he much prefers the humanness that Yongguk displays to him, displayed in their friendship.
The anger is because Yongguk is notĀ meantĀ to let fear and weakness dominate him. Yongguk is meant to be his own ruler, the king of his claims and his space, intimidating in a way that draws one's mind.Ā
Jaejoong thinks the younger has spent far too much time under his influence, that the lack of Yoochun has caused Yongguk to look to the weak hyung. Jaejoong understands that Yongguk is in need of someone older to help him through, but it should not be Jaejoong. It was so selfish of him to forget about supporting Yongguk and letting his dongsaeng be a crutch for himself.Ā
He is not sure that he deserves to be called hyung.Ā
That thought is what has Jaejoong sliding his thumb down his list of contacts, away from Yongguk to someone far less meaningful to him, though they should be able to entertain him for a few minutes, at least. He will simply have to retrieve more blankets to smother the feeling of loneliness.Ā
