Quick inky sketchy biro studies of some owls. I haven’t used biro as a medium in a long time so theses are a little messy but it was fun playing around with shading and crosshatching!

Photostudy of an owl I painted in preparation for another Humblewood piece. :) I like to give studies my own touch and they are never accurate, but that doesn’t matter as long as I get from them what I wanted to learn. In this case I wanted to understand the different hues and values of the feathers while being lit very subtly through ambient light and reflected light from the ground.
