Not sure why my brain does this as “guy who has yet to actually read devo due to it being so controversial which is why it was placed where it was on my guide” but I hate recognizing the fact getter was never meant to be meta and or multiversal and the one time they actually officially did it again, devo, not many people liked it + this kind of thing people are getting sick of reasonably in the modern day (mainly the latter, but meta twists or take will always be controversial) there is no reason to view the franchise through this lens
And yet something about this series feels like it’s building off itself in ways even when each iteration does something different but also similar, and my brain will forever be stuck on the fact that in spin offs go and arc team appearances are so minimal even if there’s reason for arc being “until the 2021 anime the entire story was off limits, now it’s not” even if go I don’t know the exact reasons why they aren’t used but probably due to popularity or something I heard once that getter go robot has weird copyright (just forget how true that is) and yet my brain interprets this as in the grand scheme of the universe go team actually rarely comes into existence and arc team is a fucking anomaly. And no one could take this away from me but I will need to still refrain myself from doing a stupidly meta getter fic even if I kinda already did that twice and I wouldn’t make people as mad as devo, it is a thought in my mind when I think about OG team favoritism.
