University of Chicago study on the effects of a no-borders, free migration world results in a 200 year long distinction of becoming "worse places to live” in the west and other highly developed regions of the world

What’s more, it reveals that should borders remain strictly maintained, the developing world becomes the most developed parts of the world in the future.

This reveals, in the conclusion, what this means for the developed world:

To keep our borders tightly maintained will mean for the eventual loss of western or east asian global supremacy and the indomitable rise of powers in today’s developing world. 

ergo, open borders is a ploy to maintain western economic and militaristic hegemony long into the future.

Toward these ends however, to open the borders would cause the developed regions of the world to enter a lengthy period of it being a shitty place to live with the eventual outcome of “western” or developed world maintaining supremacy and an overall 3-fold increase in productivity over 500 years from now.

What I glean from this aligns with alot of what I’ve already been saying a la David Suzuki:

Immigration and open migration saps the developing world of it’s brain power and human labour. It’s future leaders and inventors end up just moving to the west, leaving their home countries to languish in perpetuity.

I think it’s time for people on the left to consider the developing world not just in terms of how the west loots of it of it’s material wealth, but also it’s human wealth by taking it’s exceptional and entrepreneurial people. By plucking the great minds and most passionate people from the countries that sorely need them.
