Outer: mmh?

(Outer looks up at Sci from his position on the couch)

Sci: according to my findings, bones from your universe are denser than from other universes.

(outer sits up.)

Outer: and... Why do you know that?

Sci: tests, of course.

Outer: ... Not gonna ask about that one.

(Sci stands up, stretching for a moment before making his way to a terrarium.)

Sci: I don't see what you see in those things.

(Outer looks behind him at Sci and his terrarium of beloved jumping spiders)

Outer: they're interesting. Don't have anything like that that I have access to back in my universe.

Sci: mmh.

(Outer goes back to laying on the couch, as Sci produces a notebook from his inventory to note something down.)

Outer: adding something to my file, my firefly?

Sci: it is not a file. It is a document, love.

Outer: ah, of course! Excuse me, my ladybug. I wouldn't want to vex you.

(Outer raises a browbone, his voice taking a mock-guilt tone)

Sci: do not mock me, love.

Outer: of course.

Sci: I have been needing a test subject for something regarding your universe...

Outer: No- I am not doing anything like last time.

Sci: sad.

I made a random number sheet and landed on the best boi Deneb, for what he was doing it said “kawaii” so here we are :D

Sci was always up doing SOMETHING, whether it be work, staying up until 2 am for no clear reason, reading, or spending all of his free time and then some with Outer, who was not impressed by Sci always doing something and would barely ever stop, and he'd always say, "Just a bit longer" and take what felt like two years to finish what he was doing.

"Sci your favorite movie is on," Outer said.

"I need just a bit longer to do this," Sci replied.

A few days later Outer woke up rather early and went to the kitchen and saw Sci eating toast.

"Sci, what are you doing up so early in the morning? Have you even slept yet?" Outer said, quite worried.

"Sorry give me just a bit longer," Sci said before taking a bite of his toast, "I'll go to bed once I finish my toast."

About a day later it was nearly midnight when Outer and Sci were watching funny movies.

"Hey, I think we should head to bed, it's really late."

"Can we stay up, just a bit longer?"

About a week later Sci was up as usual, reading a book.

"Sci. It's past midnight, we both need rest, come on, let's go to sleep."

"Gimme just a bit longer, I'm nearly done with this chapter."

Two days later, 

"Dinner is ready Sci," Outer said from the dining room.

"I need to finish setting up something so give me just a bit longer," Sci replied from the basement.

About 20 minutes later Outer came downstairs, "Dinner is getting cold, Sci."

"Oh really? I'm so so sorry I must have lost track of time."

"Well, it'd be best for you to learn how to keep track of it, I mean, you go to sleep around three or four in the morning and wake up at six in the morning almost every day. Heck, your dark circles even have dark circles. Sci, what you're doing is unhealthy and can and will lead to a burn out if you keep it up," Outer said in a concerned tone of voice.

"Look, Outer, I'm sorry. I understand your concern, and I'll try to not be that way. Okay? We'll go eat dinner and then we can cuddle, have ice cream, watch a movie, anything of your choice. Sound fair?"

Outer thought for a moment and sighed, "Fine."He and Sci then went up stairs to the dining room to eat dinner. 

Afterwards, Sci got Outer and himself a bowl of Neapolitan ice cream and they both sat down in the living room with a warm blanket wrapped around them as they watched animated movies together. It only took 2 and a half movies for Outer to fall asleep, but Sci hang fallen asleep yet rather he was wide awake, he wasn't sure why he was awake, but he was. And after the third movie ended, Sci picked Outer up bridal style and took him to their bedroom and gently placed him on the bed and tucked him in. Once he was done with that he went to the kitchen and made himself some warm sweet milk in hopes that it'll help him sleep, but it didn't. 

"Guessing I'll be awake just a bit longer than expected," Sci sighed as he finished his warm sweet milk and went into the living room and grabbed a book from the living room then say down on the couch and began reading.

An hour passed... Sci still wasn't sleepy.

Another hour went by... Sci wasn't anywhere near being sleepy.

About an hour and a half went by before Sci felt remotely tired. But he knew that Outer wouldn't be happy that he stayed up so late and he didn't want Outer to be upset, so he put the book he was reading away and went to Outer and his room; laid down on their bed, gently putting the blanket on top of him; and gently pulled Outer into an embrace. Some time later Sci was able to fall asleep, but at least he did. 

Don't ask why Outer's hand is so long

Outer: you sure this is safe, my firefly?

(Outer lays on the table, and proceeds to get strapped down by Sci.)

Sci: safe enough.

Outer: 'enough'..?

Sci: it won't kill you.

(sci installs a sort of helmet on Outer's head, before pressing a few buttons on a control board.)

Outer: so... What does this do exactly?

Sci: you'll see, my love.

(before Outer knows it, his surroundings seem to change to pure white, then pure black, before finally going to pure white again with black outlines on items.)

Outer: sci...? Where are you? Firefly?

Sci: I'm here.

Outer: I can't see you.

Sci: that means it's working.

(sci jots down something on a notepad, the sound the only indication to Outer.)

Sci: what do you see, my love?

Outer: white... And black outlines. Except for you. I can't see you at all.

(sci notes a few more things down.)

Sci: thank you, my dear.

(sci slowly lowers the settings on the machine, then takes the helmet off of Outer's head.)

Outer: ... Ya think skeletons can vomit?

Sci: we'll discover soon, I guess.

(sci unstraps Outer, and accompanies him to the bathroom. Outer walks on wobbly legs.)
